Our founder, Edward Kane, had a big heart and a bold vision when he started this venture. He wanted to make a positive impact on people's lives by helping them with their finances. He led the EK Financial Group team for over 30 years, taking us from scrappy startup in the early days, to a robust professional services firm transforming the lives of our clients and providing meaningful work to our highly-motivated team.

As a family business, it seemed to be the natural progression for Eddie to pass the baton on to his son, Aaron.

Eddie Kane establishes the business
Driven by a desire to make quality financial advice more accessible, Eddie sets to work helping Melburnians make their money work harder.
2004
Aaron Kane joins the business
After years spent avidly listening to his Dad's insights around the dinner table, Aaron joins the business at the tender age of 21.
2007
Aaron qualifies as a financial adviser
Learning on the job and lots of late night study, under Eddie's guidance, sees Aaron achieve accreditation to practice as a financial adviser.
2011
A gradual changing of the guard
Aaron begins to buy shares in to the business. This ownership cements his long-term commitment to the EK Financial Group business.
2015
Moving on up
As our team grows we move from our original Dandenong base to a new office space in Rowville.
2017
Building on our legacy
Aaron purchases the majority of the business and continues to refine, innovate, and build our team.
2018
Continuous learning
Our financial advice clients benefit from even more support and expertise, with Zac qualifying as a financial adviser.
2022
A new EK home
We purchase our new office space in Wheelers Hill. The epic fit out is custom designed for an exemplary client and team experience.
2024
Today and beyond
We've expanded both the financial advice and mortgage broking arms of the business, with several of our ten-strong team achieving new qualifications, including Bianca becoming a mortgage broker!
